For thousands of years, layers of lava from volcanoes in the ocean were accumulated beyond the sea surface and the Canary Islands slowly emerged from the Atlantic abyssal plains north of the Tropic of Cancer. Its climate was blessed by the cold waters that came from higher latitudes and its coasts were drawn by cliffs and sandy and boulder beaches. Black sand beaches, testimony to its volcanic origin, or bright white sand beaches, with remains of shells and skeletons of millions of marine animals, in which the swelling of the tides floods its coastline daily soaking all around with sea salt and where the waves, which travels far from the ocean, delights us with its beauty and power by breaking into foam on its banks.
