Los Tilos Forest is enchanted. Its clouds, a creation of the laurel ecosystem, appear as though alive. Standing still amidst the tangle of branches and leaves, glimmering lights and water droplets, one is transported back millions of years to a period, the tertiary period, in which this extraordinary place of natural heritage and the heart of La Palma World Biosphere Reserve has its roots.
Its myriad shades of green, the interweave of branches and ferns, its fallen leaves and moss, the fresh breeze and sun, lure one to seek out the fairies of the woods concealed in its undergrowth.
