At the end of spring each year, Las Cañadas del Teide National Park puts on a truly unique display of colour. The crimson flowers of the tajinaste plant, a native of the Canary Islands (its name meaning spire or tower in guanche, the language of the early inhabitants of the Archipelago) is a source of equal delight to visitors and the local bees eager to transform it into a honey worthy of the Fortunate Isles.

Dawn regales us with a truly magical moment where time seems to stand still in the face of such other-worldly beauty.
