En route along the path that runs through the mouth of the Barranco de Tajao, on leaving behind the remains of ancient quarries from which the traveling stone of Arico was extracted, nature surprises us with the Bijagua arch. A rocky vault of volcanic origin molded by the wind, in whose bed, among the blocks of stone detached by thousands of years of erosion, grow cardones, vinegreras, margazas and tabaibas, sheltered from the highest cliffs.
