The fishing village of El Cotillo, located on the north west coast of Fuerteventura, has some of the best beaches in the Canary Islands and even in the rest of the world.
Battered by the wind and tides, the ocean forms large lagoons where you need to wade some distance before it gets deep. At low tide, the water goes out slowly, leaving a wavy pattern on the sand, perhaps so the land doesn’t miss the caress of the water before it returns.

El pueblo pesquero de El Cotillo, situado al Norte en la costa Oeste de Fuerteventura, está flanqueado por algunas de las mejores playas de Canarias y, seguramente, del mundo. Azocadas del viento y la marea, el océano forma
grandes lagunas en las que hay que adentrarse durante un rato largo para encontrar profundidad. En la bajamar el agua se retira lentamente y deja en la arena su dibujo de vaivén, quizás para que la tierra no la eche de menos hasta que le toque la vuelta.
